Chaired by Anne-Marie Canning, The Sisterhood Soiree is a special evening of celebration to recognize the sisterhood of hundreds of women who have each donated $2,500 to launch one woman on her journey out of poverty. Women attending the 2009 and 2010 Sisterhood Soirees have raised over $1 million for Women Moving Women. To date 962 donors have joined Women Moving Women, raising a total of $2.4 million

CWF donor Susan Radojevic is celebrating her 50th birthday in 2010 by sharing her good life and raising money in support of the Women Moving Women campaign. Her goal is to move 10 women and their families on their journeys out of poverty ($25,000) by asking friends, family, colleagues, and individuals to join her in this effort, and share their good life. Chaired by long-time CWF supporter, Anne-Marie Canning, the Sisterhood Soiree was an event “first” in women’s philanthropy in Canada. The Soiree celebrated $1million being raised by donors brought into the Women Moving Women campaign through the “Sisterhood Soiree Cabinet” (a group of 50 wonderful women who pledged to find many more wonderful women to help move a woman out of poverty).
The glittering evening, hosted by Valerie Pringle, featured a musical performance by Canadian singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk, and a special reading by Deepa Mehta and her daughter Devyani Saltzman.
